To the left you may enjoy a virtual rendition of the handbill for the next local-to-DC TURBOSLUT appearance. We are honored to perform on March 6, 2009 at the venerable Corpse Fortress alongside the esteemed SCREAMING FEMALES, INGRID, and NEW HABITAT. This event will be the last TURBOSLUT performance in the DC area FOREVER, at least in any imaginable incarnation, as drummer/sorceress Jean Trapchak departs to the southwest to be raised by wolves. In lieu of flowers read a book.

Thank you to all those who attended the celebration of our split LP with PYGMY LUSH at the Black Cat last night. We want to give you permission to move around and have a little fun next time. Don’t worry, you looked great.

Which brings me to the final order of business for today’s transmission - tour. We are going to Austin and back this March, visiting many fine towns along the way. Check out our dates. TURBOSLUT is home from tour.

We had an amazing time everywhere. Thank you Greensboro, Athens, Baton Rouge, New Orleans , Gainesville, Columbia, and Asheville: We love you forever.

Thank you also to the elite team of specialists who accompanied us on our epic journey: Jen (illustrious photographer), Derek, Noam, and Gilles.

We are not playing any shows until the release of our split LP with Pygmy Lush in early 2009. We want to focus on writing, and tending our neglected personal lives, and other projects.

Cancelled - DCAC on Sunday

After learning more about oob’s history of transphobia and experiencing their lack of accountability for their own retro politics, we have decided to cancel our set on Sunday at DCAC.

off our back’s brand of feminism might be obsolete. Sometimes a project that once was valuable becomes more of an institution than a movement, existing for the sake of itself and not filling the changing needs of its purported constituency.

To anyone who was thinking of coming on Sunday--we’ll see you soon enough at one of the bazillion shows we’re playing in the next few months.

exciting news, more tapes, more shows

we are recording for a split lp on exotic fever records with our most beloved complementary opposites in noise, pygmy lush.

after running out of the first 200 demo tapes, we ordered more. the second 200 are clear tapes, not purple. sorry. order them by contacting turboslutsavedmylife at gmail dot com. they have also been remastered and the new better sounding songs are yours free to download.

our recent weekend out with pygmy lush was incredible fun (documentation below). thanks to baltimore, cincinnati, ann arbor, and pittsburgh for putting up with us and putting us up.

there are still more good times to be had before we run this summer into the ground: we are playing dna test fest (clicky clicky flyer at left) and a few other local shows. we may escape to richmond in august. goin south in the fall. check out shows for more info.
